Analysis of Prayer to Mary

I. Attention to Biblical References

Publishers of the Bible and complicit religious organizations have embarked on an enterprise to falsify the Bible through ncew editions, where the original text is replaced by interpretations supposed to facilitate understanding but whose meaning can be very different from that of the initial text. Therefore, we recommend, to verify the references, to use Bibles whose edition date is 1910 or earlier (Louis Segond 1910, Darby, Martin, King James). If you are Catholic and do not trust these translations, use the Jerusalem Bible 1950 edition. Avoid recent editions, among which are Louis Segond 1985, Parole Vivante, and Parole de Vie. You can search for the cited references on Google, and you will quickly find and read them in these older editions of the Bible. Using Google will generally be faster than searching in a paper Bible.

II. Jesus Christ and the Apostles “Fought” to Ensure No Place Was Given to Mary in Christian Worship

The Facts

One might be surprised by this statement. Nevertheless, one only needs to read Jesus Christ’s responses when Mary was mentioned during His time on earth.

Case 1: The Wedding at Cana

John 2:3-5 “3And when they wanted wine, the mother of Jesus saith unto him, They have no wine. 4Jesus saith unto her, Woman, what have I to do with thee? mine hour is not yet come. His mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it.”

Jesus Christ calls Mary “woman” here, not “mother,” and asks her a question that might be surprising to many. On closer reflection, one can imagine the reason for this question.

It is also very important to note that nowhere is it said that the people of Cana had asked Mary to intercede for them. The text rather highlights a personal initiative by Mary.

Today, in some new editions of the Bible, those who are determined to mislead God’s people have falsified the text to convey their message. This can be seen by comparing the texts of three editions of the Bible that Catholics use.

John 2:4 Jerusalem Bible – Jesus said to her: “What do you want from me, woman? My hour has not yet come.” John 2:4 Parole de Vie 2017 (GNT 2017) Jesus replied: 4 “You must not tell me what to do,” Jesus replied. “My time has not yet come.”

John 2:4 Bible in Current French (TFV) But Jesus replied to her: “Woman, what do you want from me? My hour has not yet come.”

Observe that the Jerusalem Bible uses “woman” as Louis Segond does. However, the recent translations of the Bible, such as Parole de Vie and Current French, have managed to find that “mother” is a synonym for “woman” and thus replace “woman” with “mother.” This gives a clear idea of the translators’ intent to destroy the word and intention of Jesus Christ to convey their own message.

Case 2: Declaration Regarding Mary

Luke 11:27-28 King James Version “And it came to pass, as he spake these things, a certain woman of the company lifted up her voice, and said unto him, Blessed is the womb that bare thee, and the paps which thou hast sucked. But he said, Yea rather, blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it.”

Luke 11:27-28 Jerusalem – And it came to pass, as he spoke these things, a certain woman of the company lifted up her voice, and said unto him: “Blessed is the womb that bare thee, and the paps which thou hast sucked. But he said: Yea rather, blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it.”

Here, it is evident that the woman speaking is referring to Mary. Jesus Christ again responds in a way to divert attention from Mary in particular and says what really matters.

Case 3: Jesus’ Mother and Brothers

Matthew 12:46-50 “While he yet talked to the people, behold, his mother and his brethren stood without, desiring to speak with him. Then one said unto him, Behold, thy mother and thy brethren stand without, desiring to speak with thee. But he answered and said unto him that told him, Who is my mother? and who are my brethren? And he stretched forth his hand toward his disciples, and said, Behold my mother and my brethren! For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother.”

Jesus Christ redefines who His mother is. Once again, through His words, He shows that no special status should be given to Mary, as He ultimately says that anyone who does the will of His Father can be considered His mother.

4. Jesus Does Not Consider Mary His Biological Mother

Luke 7:28 “For I say unto you, Among those that are born of women there is not a greater prophet than John the Baptist: but he that is least in the kingdom of God is greater than he.”

Through this passage, Jesus Christ declares both that John the Baptist is greater than Mary and that He, Jesus Christ, was not born of a woman. He confirms this in the following passage: John 8:57-58 “Then said the Jews unto him, Thou art not yet fifty years old, and hast thou seen Abraham? Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am.

Jesus refuses any human filiation, both by father and mother. Mary is just the means by which He became flesh to enter the world. She is not “the mother of God.”

Case of the Apostles

Note that the apostles did not preach Mary. No apostle said that a prayer or intercession request should be addressed to Mary. None even mentioned her name in their gospel or epistle, not even the apostle John who took her into his home after Jesus Christ told him she was his mother. The church for centuries never mentioned that one could pray or make requests to Mary, until suddenly Roman Catholicism, several centuries later, came with this doctrine. But what does the apostle Paul say?

1 Corinthians 15:1-2 “Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; by which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.”

This variation of the gospel aims to make those who adopt it believe in vain.

Analysis of Jesus and the Apostles’ Behavior Regarding Mary

One might be surprised by Jesus’ statements whenever Mary is mentioned, but in reality, upon close observation, it is understood that Jesus Christ knew well what would happen, that people would make a cult of Mary, and He wanted to show that He was never for that. His statements remove any special status from Mary in worship. This cult of Mary can be considered prophetically announced and reproved, not only through Jesus’ statements above but also through this prophetic word said to Mary: Luke 2:35 “Yea, a sword shall pierce through thy own soul also, that the thoughts of many hearts may be revealed.” This can be complemented by Jesus Christ’s word: John 15:22 “If I had not come and spoken unto them, they had not had sin: but now they have no cloak for their sin.”

The Worship and Prayers Directed to Mary and Not to God Could Be Seen as This Sword Piercing Her Soul and Revealing the Thoughts of Many Hearts These practices of worshiping Mary and not God could be likened to this sword piercing her soul and allowing the thoughts of many hearts to be revealed. Those who have not believed in Jesus Christ’s words concerning Mary, who do not have their hearts fully devoted to God, as their practice, as we will see, violates His commandments. Jesus’ response at Cana highlights a desire not to think that Mary’s role as His mother is why He acts. He calls her “woman” and not “mother,” and later reminds that His mother is anyone who obeys God. Furthermore, He grants blessings to all who ask Him directly, including even the Canaanite woman!

Addressing prayers to her is blasphemous against God, as it involves worshiping the dead, attributing God’s omnipresence to her, and implicitly creating a new god.

III. On Praying to Mary as an Insult to Christ

Some people claim they do not pray to Mary but rather ask for her intercession. Whether it is prayer or a request for intercession, it does not change the following argument. Moreover, if we ask them what they do when they pray that they do not do when asking for Mary’s intercession to distinguish between the two, we will see that they have a hollow discourse just to divert the issue.

This practice (praying or asking for intercession from Mary) is an insult to Christ, and here is why:

1 John 2:1 King James Version “My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous.

Jesus said “greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends”; “no man cometh unto the Father, but by me… I am the way…”.

Jesus Christ gave His life for us, and Rome estimates that Mary can hear our prayers more easily than He can.

Knowing that she cannot intercede between God and us (Jesus being the only way), she is placed as an intercessor between Christ and us.

So implicitly, we are saying that she will listen to us more easily than Christ! And that she loves us more than Christ who died for us. Understand this well. By placing her as an intercessor between Christ and us, the fundamental question that arises is: “Between Jesus Christ and Mary, who will listen to my prayer more easily”? Going through Mary as an intercessor means answering “Mary.” One does not go through someone distant to speak to someone close, but rather through the close to reach the distant.

What is the biblical foundation that would make Mary an intercessor between Jesus Christ and us? NONE. Not even the fact that Jesus told His disciple John, “Behold thy mother.”

Where have you seen in the New Testament that another disciple considered Mary as his own mother for this reason? Or that he preached Mary or worshiped Mary?

Have you even seen this disciple mention Mary in his gospel? NO. Instead, he took her into his home, as if to say that Jesus Christ entrusted Mary to him so that he could take care of her.

We deny the following word of Jesus Christ by creating this supposed intercessor:

John 14:23 King James Version “Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.”

Do you believe this word of Christ that I have just quoted?

So you go through Mary (a dead person WHO HAS MADE NO PROMISE TO YOU and who is not at your home) to communicate with someone who has His abode at your home?

a. Isn’t this recognizing that you do not have a direct relationship with Jesus Christ? ………….. Or that you do not believe in the word of Jesus Christ?

Matthew 28:19-20 “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world.”

b. Between Jesus Christ who gave His life for you, made promises to you, is the Creator filled with divine power, and Mary, a woman who made no promises to you, did not die for you, and does not have the attributes of divine power, who can more easily hear your prayer?

VI. The Implicit Creation of a New God Called Mary

Definition of the Word God

Let us begin by recalling the definitions of the word “god” given by the Larousse Dictionary (https://www.larousse.fr/dictionnaires/francais/dieu/25418):

god (noun, masculine)

  1. (In singular or plural, with a lowercase letter, and a feminine goddess) In polytheistic religions, a superior being endowed with supernatural power over men; divinity: The gods of the Romans.
  2. Representation of a divinity: Gods in stone.
  3. A person to whom one devotes a kind of veneration, passionate attachment, or whom one considers superior: This athlete is their god.
  4. An object, thing, idea that one places at the top of the value hierarchy and to which one sacrifices everything: The god dollar.

1. On Praying to Mary

Can you simply explain how she manages to listen simultaneously to everyone around the world who addresses her prayers? When you have a billion people scattered around the globe praying to her at the same time, how can she hear them if she does not have the following two abilities:

  1. Gift of omnipresence
  2. Gift of infinite request processing (imagine more than a billion requests to process per minute)

Let us acknowledge that no human can justify such capabilities, and thus, by assuming them in a human, we implicitly make her a god called Mary. This is reinforced by the veneration that Catholics recognize giving her.

Even if it is not explicitly acknowledged, considering the definition of the word “god,” one implicitly makes her a god, thereby transgressing the first of the Ten Commandments.

Exodus 20:3 “Thou shalt have no other gods before me.”

Then there are statues supposedly representing her, yet her figure or appearance is not described anywhere in the Bible and thus cannot be sculpted, transgressing the second of the Ten Commandments.

Exodus 20:4-6 “Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth. Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me; And showing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.”

A totally blasphemous title is given to her as the “Mother of God.”

The Lord our God has no mother. He has no beginning or end. The creature cannot be the mother of the Creator.

2 Corinthians 6:15-17
15 “And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel?

16 And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. 17 Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you.”

Some claim that Mary listens to prayers conveyed by guardian angels. This merely shifts the problem while introducing agents not mentioned anywhere in the Bible. She would need the ability to hear billions of people simultaneously. It’s akin to having an email inbox receiving billions of messages every second. Even with these messages present, do you think you could read them all each second? For every second that passes, another billion messages arrive. Is such a capacity possible for a human? John the Baptist, who is considered greater than Mary, does not do this, but Mary does?

The earthly Jesus no longer exists (the one who would have been subject to Mary, although He evidently was not in His flesh), and it is not the heavenly Jesus Christ, whom the Bible says all things will be subjected to, who would now be subject to Mary.

To better understand the origin of Marian devotion, in addition to the link above, consider these other sources:

  • https://www.biblegateway.com/quicksearch/?quicksearch=la+reine+du+ciel&version=LSG

Jeremiah 44:17-18
17 “But we will certainly do whatsoever thing goeth forth out of our own mouth, to burn incense unto the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto her, as we have done, we, and our fathers, our kings, and our princes, in the cities of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem: for then had we plenty of victuals, and were well, and saw no evil.
18 But since we left off to burn incense to the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto her, we have wanted all things, and have been consumed by the sword and by the famine.”

Many people think that the sign of God’s presence or that God is responding is seeing their desires fulfilled or witnessing miracles. This is exactly what those people said. Moreover, due to the actions of the Baals or God’s anger, many, when they cease without entering true obedience, which is the framework of God’s promise, start experiencing misfortunes, and since their hearts are not truly devoted to God and they do not trust Him, they return to their practices.

Acts 19:24-27
24 “For a certain man named Demetrius, a silversmith, which made silver shrines for Diana, brought no small gain unto the craftsmen;
25 Whom he called together with the workmen of like occupation, and said, Sirs, ye know that by this craft we have our wealth.
26 Moreover ye see and hear, that not alone at Ephesus, but almost throughout all Asia, this Paul hath persuaded and turned away much people, saying that they be no gods, which are made with hands:
27 So that not only this our craft is in danger to be set at nought; but also that the temple of the great goddess Diana should be despised, and her magnificence should be destroyed, whom all Asia and the world worshippeth.”

V. Communication with the Dead via Mary

How can the dead Mary intercede between the living? HOW TO CALL UP THE DEAD?

The doctrine of the Assumption was invented to give substance, but the Bible does not mention anywhere a rising of Mary to Heaven. Instead, we are told that Jesus entered there to be our Advocate with the Father. Worse, the day chosen for the Assumption corresponds to a feast in abomination to the Lord, decided by King Jeroboam to rival another feast decreed by the Lord.

1 Kings 12:32
“32 And Jeroboam ordained a feast in the eighth month, on the fifteenth day of the month, like unto the feast that is in Judah, and he offered upon the altar. So did he in Bethel, sacrificing unto the calves that he had made: and he placed in Bethel the priests of the high places which he had made.”

When someone does not die, their contemporaries notice. One does not wait more than 400 years to discover that they would not be dead (as is the case with Mary), just because suddenly there is a desire to worship them.

Did you know that the Bible forbids addressing the dead? …

1 Chronicles 10:13
“So Saul died for his transgression which he committed against the Lord, even against the word of the Lord, which he kept not, and also for asking counsel of one that had a familiar spirit, to inquire of it.”

Leviticus 20:6
“And the soul that turneth after such as have familiar spirits, and after wizards, to go a whoring after them, I will even set my face against that soul, and will cut him off from among his people.”

Deuteronomy 18:9-11
9 “When thou art come into the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee, thou shalt not learn to do after the abominations of those nations.
10 There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch,
11 Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer.

A Christian is supposed to have Christ in them, living within them. How is it possible to go through a dead person who is not in you (since they are dead) to reach a living one who is in you? Isn’t this recognizing that one does not know Jesus Christ?

Some will say that their dead are not dead, which is why they can communicate with them. One should then ask them if the prophet Samuel was less alive in the sense of the life they say their dead have, he being a prophet of God, whom Saul went to consult through those who call up the dead, and whose woman said she saw a god rising. If Saul died going to consult the prophet Samuel, it is clear that no matter how they estimate their dead as alive, we should not consult or communicate with humans who no longer live in the flesh in this world.

VI. The Intercessory Role of Mary in the Bible

The Deceptive Interpretation of the Wedding at Cana

The role of Mary as an intercessor, which Rome likes to build upon the first miracle where Mary tells Jesus, “They have no wine,” to make it seem that Jesus acts upon Mary’s intercession, is misleading.

Indeed, there is no one in the Bible who, having addressed Jesus directly, did not receive satisfaction. Why would there be a sudden need for her intercession many centuries after Jesus Christ?

Lazarus’s sister saw her brother resurrected; did she go through Mary?

Who has addressed Jesus Christ directly and not been answered?…

Who in the Bible asked Mary to intercede for them (even at Cana, it is said to be an initiative of Mary and not that the people there asked her for intercession)?

Which verse or apostle has said that one could ask Mary for intercession without seeing her physically before them?

Or even simply that one could ask her for intercession?

Or even just mentioned her name in their preaching?

Catholicism, by making Mary a Co-Redemptrix, implicitly declares that Jesus Christ could not accomplish His mission alone and needed help, thus denying the words of Christ and the apostles, who never appointed a co-redemptrix to Jesus Christ.

The Argument that Jesus Would Necessarily be “Obedient” to Mary’s Requests Because She is His Mother

Let us examine a few examples from the Bible to show that it is not stated that a king is necessarily obedient to his mother, and indeed, the opposite can sometimes be true.

Adonijah approached King Solomon’s mother, Bathsheba, to make a request, and in return, the king ordered his execution.

1 Kings 2:13-25
13 And Adonijah the son of Haggith came to Bathsheba the mother of Solomon. And she said, Comest thou peaceably? And he said, Peaceably.
14 He said moreover, I have somewhat to say unto thee. And she said, Say on.
15 And he said, Thou knowest that the kingdom was mine, and that all Israel set their faces on me, that I should reign: howbeit the kingdom is turned about, and is become my brother’s: for it was his from the LORD.16 And now I ask one petition of thee, deny me not. And she said unto him, Say on.17 And he said, Speak, I pray thee, unto Solomon the king, (for he will not say thee nay,) that he give me Abishag the Shunammite to wife. 18 And Bathsheba said, Well; I will speak for thee unto the king.

19 Bathsheba therefore went unto king Solomon, to speak unto him for Adonijah. And the king rose up to meet her, and bowed himself unto her, and sat down on his throne, and caused a seat to be set for the king’s mother; and she sat on his right hand.
20 Then she said, I desire one small petition of thee; I pray thee, say me not nay. And the king said, Ask on, my mother: for I will not say thee nay. 21 And she said, Let Abishag the Shunammite be given to Adonijah thy brother to wife. 22 And king Solomon answered and said unto his mother, And why dost thou ask Abishag the Shunammite for Adonijah? Ask for him the kingdom also; for he is mine elder brother; even for him, and for Abiathar the priest, and for Joab the son of Zeruiah. 23 Then king Solomon sware by the LORD, saying, God do so to me, and more also, if Adonijah have not spoken this word against his own life. 24 Now therefore, as the LORD liveth, which hath established me, and set me on the throne of David my father, and who hath made me an house, as he promised, Adonijah shall be put to death this day. 25 And king Solomon sent by the hand of Benaiah the son of Jehoiada; and he fell upon him that he died.

Asa removed the queen’s dignity from his mother for having made idols.

1 Kings 15:13
13 And also Maachah his mother, even her did Asa put away from being queen, because she had made an idol in a grove; and Asa destroyed her idol, and burnt it by the brook Kidron.

VII. Virginity and the Other Children of Mary

Matthew 1:25
25 And knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name Jesus.

Matthew 13:55
55 Is not this the carpenter’s son? is not his mother called Mary? and his brethren, James, and Joses, and Simon, and Judas?
56 And his sisters, are they not all with us? Whence then hath this man all these things?

Luke 1:36
36 And, behold, thy cousin Elizabeth, she hath also conceived a son in her old age: and this is the sixth month with her, who was called barren.

Note that Elizabeth is not called Mary’s sister (in the sense of cousin), but indeed a relative of Mary.

Matthew 12:47-50
47 Then one said unto him, Behold, thy mother and thy brethren stand without, desiring to speak with thee.
48 But he answered and said unto him that told him, Who is my mother? and who are my brethren?
49 And he stretched forth his hand toward his disciples, and said, Behold my mother and my brethren!
50 For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother.

V. Apparitions and Miracles of Mary and Other Revelations about Mary

Some argue that the Bible does not cover everything, and there have been revelations about the Assumption and other matters. It is true that God continues to reveal, but new revelations must be consistent with and in continuity with the Bible. However, the supposed revelations about Mary lead to the creation of a new deity and idolatry, as we have seen. Let us read what is written.

Galatians 1:8-9
8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.
9 As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.

Note that “accursed” means reprobate, or even cursed.

Mary at Fatima

2 Corinthians 11:13-15
13 For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ.
14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.
15 Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.

Deuteronomy 13:1-3
1 If there arise among you a prophet, or a dreamer of dreams, and giveth thee a sign or a wonder,
2 And the sign or the wonder come to pass, whereof he spake unto thee, saying, Let us go after other gods, which thou hast not known, and let us serve them;
3 Thou shalt not hearken unto the words of that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams: for the LORD your God proveth you, to know whether ye love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul.

1 Kings 13:8-24
8 And the man of God said unto the king, If thou wilt give me half thine house, I will not go in with thee, neither will I eat bread nor drink water in this place:
9 For so was it charged me by the word of the LORD, saying, Eat no bread, nor drink water, nor turn again by the same way that thou camest.
10 So he went another way, and returned not by the way that he came to Bethel.
11 Now there dwelt an old prophet in Bethel; and his sons came and told him all the works that the man of God had done that day in Bethel: the words which he had spoken unto the king, them they told also to their father.
12 And their father said unto them, What way went he? For his sons had seen what way the man of God went, which came from Judah.
13 And he said unto his sons, Saddle me the ass. So they saddled him the ass: and he rode thereon,
14 And went after the man of God, and found him sitting under an oak: and he said unto him, Art thou the man of God that camest from Judah? And he said, I am.
15 Then he said unto him, Come home with me, and eat bread.
16 And he said, I may not return with thee, nor go in with thee: neither will I eat bread nor drink water with thee in this place:
17 For it was said to me by the word of the LORD, Thou shalt eat no bread nor drink water there, nor turn again to go by the way that thou camest.
18 He said, I am a prophet also as thou art; and an angel spake unto me by the word of the LORD, saying, Bring him back with thee into thine house, that he may eat bread and drink water. But he lied unto him.
19 So he went back with him, and did eat bread in his house, and drank water.
20 And it came to pass, as they sat at the table, that the word of the LORD came unto the prophet that brought him back:
21 And he cried unto the man of God that came from Judah, saying, Thus saith the LORD, Forasmuch as thou hast disobeyed the mouth of the LORD, and hast not kept the commandment which the LORD thy God commanded thee,
22 But camest back, and hast eaten bread and drunk water in the place, of the which the LORD did say to thee, Eat no bread, and drink no water; thy carcase shall not come unto the sepulchre of thy fathers.
23 And it came to pass, after he had eaten bread, and after he had drunk, that he saddled for him the ass, to wit, for the prophet whom he had brought back.
24 And when he was gone, a lion met him by the way, and slew him: and his carcase was cast in the way, and the ass stood by it, the lion also stood by the carcase.

VI. The Immaculate Conception

Luke 1:5: “There was in the days of Herod, the king of Judaea, a certain priest named Zacharias, of the course of Abia: and his wife was of the daughters of Aaron, and her name was Elisabeth. 6 And they were both righteous before God, walking in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord blameless.”

The Bible bears witness to the righteousness of John’s parents, as seen here. The Immaculate Conception of Mary is a significant falsehood.

We are told that “all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.” The Bible does not provide any exemption for Mary, who also calls God her Savior; Luke 1:47: “And my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour.” She is suddenly transformed into a person without sin, thus not needing a savior, on the pretext that Christ could not be born of a sinner. In this case, she herself would not have been able to be born of a sinner, to avoid also being tainted by her birth.

Tracing this back, no one in her lineage should have sinned, including Eve.

VII. The Answering of Prayers Addressed to Mary

Read carefully the following:

Jeremiah 44:17-18: “17 But we will certainly do whatsoever thing goeth forth out of our own mouth, to burn incense unto the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto her, as we have done, we, and our fathers, our kings, and our princes, in the cities of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem: for then had we plenty of victuals, and were well, and saw no evil. 18 But since we left off to burn incense to the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto her, we have wanted all things, and have been consumed by the sword and by the famine.”

Many people think that the sign of God’s presence or that God is responding is the fulfillment of their wishes or seeing miracles. This is exactly what these people said. Moreover, due to the actions of the Baals or the anger of God, many, when they cease without entering into true obedience, which is the framework of God’s promise, begin to experience misfortunes, and as their hearts are not truly with God and they do not trust Him, they return to their practices. But what does God say?

Jeremiah 44:25-28: “25 Thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel; Ye and your wives have both spoken with your mouths, and fulfilled with your hand, saying, We will surely perform our vows that we have vowed, to burn incense to the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto her: ye will surely accomplish your vows, and surely perform your vows. 26 Therefore hear ye the word of the Lord, all Judah that dwell in the land of Egypt; Behold, I have sworn by my great name, saith the Lord, that my name shall no more be named in the mouth of any man of Judah in all the land of Egypt, saying, The Lord God liveth. 27 Behold, I will watch over them for evil, and not for good: and all the men of Judah that are in the land of Egypt shall be consumed by the sword and by the famine, until there be an end of them.”

Thus, those who do this amass a treasure of wrath and confuse God’s patience for approval. When punishment comes, it is final.

VIII. Some Concluding Questions

  1. Are you aware that in light of all this, Marian worship, far from being necessary or useful, at best serves no purpose (all early Christians did not need it), and at worst distances you from God and exposes you to His wrath?
  2. Are you aware that by being more concerned with pleasing a church rather than God, taking the risk of offending God, you also risk being rejected by God?
  3. Why take the risk of sending your soul to death through prayers to Mary when, without these prayers, you can receive everything from God through Jesus Christ?

IX. On Statues

Deuteronomy 16:22: “Thou shalt not set thee up any image; which the Lord thy God hateth.”

Notice that this verse exclusively speaks of images, not idols.

Deuteronomy 4:15-19: “15 Take ye therefore good heed unto yourselves; for ye saw no manner of similitude on the day that the Lord spake unto you in Horeb out of the midst of the fire: 16 Lest ye corrupt yourselves, and make you a graven image, the similitude of any figure, the likeness of male or female, 17 The likeness of any beast that is on the earth, the likeness of any winged fowl that flieth in the air, 18 The likeness of any thing that creepeth on the ground, the likeness of any fish that is in the waters beneath the earth.”

2 Kings 18:4: “He removed the high places, and brake the images, and cut down the groves, and brake in pieces the brass serpent that Moses had made; for unto those days the children of Israel did burn incense to it: and he called it Nehushtan.”

Notice here that statues and idols are mentioned separately.

Deuteronomy 4:23-24: “23 Take heed unto yourselves, lest ye forget the covenant of the Lord your God, which he made with you, and make you a graven image, or the likeness of any figure, which the Lord thy God hath forbidden thee. 24 For the Lord thy God is a consuming fire, even a jealous God.”

Remember that the Jews who left Egypt did not enter the promised land not because they had sinned against their neighbor, but because they had made and worshipped a golden calf or because they had shown unbelief in God and His power.

How will those who, in blatant violation of God’s Word, use statues for religious purposes escape? In any case, everyone knows what they rely on, I suppose, Including those who choose these paths in which they are sure to lose their souls if they are wrong, to the detriment of the safer and more scriptural paths. Take heed to yourselves, for statues lead to the perdition of the soul.

For those who want to justify statues by the fact that God commanded Moses to make the brass serpent or by the temple instructions, they should answer the following questions, keeping in mind that the serpent of Moses was destroyed as mentioned above.

  1. If a legislator gives a rule and provides an exception, does this automatically authorize anyone to willfully transgress the rule without the legislator’s consent? (Yes/No)
  2. Do you know that the second commandment first forbids making images (simply not making them, Ex 20:3-12), and then in the second phrase says not to worship them?
  3. Do you know that this commandment is accompanied by a promise of punishment unto the fourth generation?
  4. Do you know that God further justifies why He said not to make images by specifying that He has never shown a face and that therefore we should not represent a face in a statue (Deuteronomy 4:15-19)?
  5. Do you know that the Bible never describes the faces of Mary or Jesus and that therefore what is in statue form can be neither one nor the other? …. Do you know that Jesus is very often represented by the face of an actor who has repeatedly stated that he is not Jesus?
  6. Why, while you are at it, did you not give this veneration to John the Baptist, who is greater than Mary, who baptized Jesus and prepared His coming?
  7. Can you estimate the number of verses in which God warns against making statues and the associated punishments?
  8. In light of all this, do you think that someone who fears God can freely make statues without the rule being abrogated because there was once an exception?
  9. If as Christians we have the Spirit of God in us and have Christ, is it not evident that statues at best serve us nothing and at worst put us under God’s anger?
  10. Why take the risk of perdition with statues when without them we can receive all the graces we need from God?

The Church’s Supposed Revelations

To those who claim to have received revelations outside the Bible to introduce prayers to Mary or similar practices, we say that it is always possible to have revelations. However, for a revelation to be acceptable, it must meet the following criteria:

a. It must be described.

b. The person claiming to have received it must be able to pledge before God that they are not lying in their description and that God will visibly strike them within a year if they are lying about what they describe.

c. It must be compatible with the foundational principles of Scripture and the Gospel we have learned from the beginning, according to the biblical texts consultable at the following link.

Conclusion and Other Links

Praying to Mary is just one of Catholicism’s means to overturn the greatest commandment of Christianity (to love God with all your heart, all your strength, all your soul, and all your mind), concerning the first two of the Ten Commandments (not to have other gods, not to make statues). Knowing that the transgression of these commandments was punishable by death, it is a way to lead souls to perdition, making them believe that it is merely a matter of opinion and that the most important thing is to love one’s neighbor. Let no one deceive you by saying that the church has the authority to modify the Word of God. This authority has not been granted anywhere in the Bible. Those who claim to have other sources than the Bible, which are incompatible with the Bible, confirm that they are not Christians. You may consult the following additional resources on Catholicism.

Pop with a Buddhist cross

https://imazpress.com/factchecking/sur-les-reseaux-ivoiriens-une-croix-portee-par-le-pape-prise-par-erreur-pour-un-symbole-lgbt

The first is from a former priest. If you look at the image on the right, the cross that the pope wears (I am not talking about the multicolored cross, which also poses another issue, but the one beneath it). It is not very visible without zooming in, but with close attention, you will see that the man on the cross has his arms crossed, exactly like some singers. On the cross, one is supposed to have their arms nailed, not crossed. However, pay attention and you will see that this crossing of arms corresponds to a Buddhist spiritual sign (the vajrahūṃkāra-mudrā) in the following link:
