How Prayers to Mary Have Nothing to Do with Christianity and Are Blasphemy Against God

Attention to Biblical References

Editors of the Bible and complicit religious organizations have engaged in a falsification of the Bible through new editions, where the original text is replaced by interpretations supposedly meant to facilitate understanding but whose meaning can be very different from the original text. Therefore, we recommend using Bibles published in 1910 or earlier (Louis Segond 1910, Darby, Martin, King James) to verify references. If you are Catholic and do not trust these translations, use the Jerusalem Bible, edition 1950. Avoid recent editions such as Louis Segond 1985, Parole Vivante, and Parole de Vie.

You can search for the cited references on Google and quickly find and read them in these older editions of the Bible. Using Google is generally faster than searching in a paper Bible.

Jesus Christ and the Apostles “Fought” to Ensure Mary Had No Place in Christian Worship

The Facts

One might be surprised by this statement. Nevertheless, one only needs to read the responses of Jesus Christ when questions about Mary arose during His time on earth.

Case 1: The Wedding at Cana

John 2:3-5 3 And when they wanted wine, the mother of Jesus saith unto him, They have no wine. 4 Jesus saith unto her, Woman, what have I to do with thee? mine hour is not yet come. 5 His mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it.

Here, Jesus Christ addresses Mary as “woman” rather than “mother,” and poses a question that might be surprising to many. Upon reflection, one can imagine the reason for this question.

It is also very important to note that nowhere does it say that the people of Cana asked Mary to intercede for them. The text rather highlights a personal initiative of Mary.

Today, in some new editions of the Bible, those who are intent on misleading the people of God have falsified the text to convey their message. This can be seen when comparing the texts from three editions of the Bible used by Catholics.

John 2:4 (Jerusalem Bible) Jesus saith unto her, Woman, what have I to do with thee? mine hour is not yet come.

John 2:4 (Parole de Vie 2017) Jesus replied, “Mother, what do you want? It is not yet my time.”

John 2:4 (French Contemporary Bible) But Jesus answered her, “Mother, is it up to you to tell me what to do? My hour has not yet come.”

Note that the Jerusalem Bible uses “woman” just like Louis Segond. However, recent Bible translations like Parole de Vie and French Contemporary have managed to find “Mother” as a synonym for “woman,” thus replacing “woman” with “Mother.” This gives a clear idea of the translators’ intention to distort the word and the intention of Jesus Christ to promote their own message.

Case 2: Statement Regarding Mary

Luke 11:27-28 27 And it came to pass, as he spake these things, a certain woman of the company lifted up her voice, and said unto him, Blessed is the womb that bare thee, and the paps which thou hast sucked. 28 But he said, Yea rather, blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it.

Here, the woman speaking is obviously referring to Mary. Jesus Christ responds once again to divert attention from Mary in particular and points out what really matters.

Case 3: Jesus’ Mother and Brothers

Matthew 12:46-50 46 While he yet talked to the people, behold, his mother and his brethren stood without, desiring to speak with him. 47 Then one said unto him, Behold, thy mother and thy brethren stand without, desiring to speak with thee. 48 But he answered and said unto him that told him, Who is my mother? and who are my brethren? 49 And he stretched forth his hand toward his disciples, and said, Behold my mother and my brethren! 50 For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother.

Jesus Christ redefines who His mother is. He shows once again through His words that no special status should be given to Mary, as He concludes that anyone who does the will of His Father can be called His mother.

Case 4: Jesus Does Not Consider Mary His Biological Mother

Luke 7:28 28 For I say unto you, Among those that are born of women there is not a greater prophet than John the Baptist: but he that is least in the kingdom of God is greater than he.

Through this passage, Jesus Christ declares both that John the Baptist is greater than Mary and that He Himself is not born of a woman. He confirms this in the following passage:

John 8:57-58 57 Then said the Jews unto him, Thou art not yet fifty years old, and hast thou seen Abraham? 58 Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am.

Jesus rejects all human lineage, whether from the father or the mother. Mary is merely the means by which He took on flesh to enter the world. She is not “the Mother of God.”

The Apostles

Note that the apostles did not preach about Mary. No apostle said that prayers or requests for intercession should be addressed to Mary. None even mentioned her name in their gospel or epistle, not even the apostle John who took her into his home after Jesus Christ told him that she was His mother. For centuries, the church did not mention that one could pray or make requests to Mary, until suddenly Roman Catholicism, several centuries later, introduced this doctrine. But what does the apostle Paul say?

1 Corinthians 15:1-2 1 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; 2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.

This deviation from the gospel is aimed at making those who adopt it believe in vain.

Analysis of Jesus’ and the Apostles’ Behavior Regarding Mary

One might be surprised by Jesus’ statements whenever Mary is referenced, but in reality, upon close observation, we understand that Jesus Christ knew what would happen, that people would worship Mary, and He wanted to show that He was never in favor of it. His statements remove any special status from Mary in worship. This worship of Mary can be considered as having been prophetically announced and condemned, not only through the statements of Jesus above but also through the prophetic word spoken to Mary:

Luke 2:35 35 Yea, a sword shall pierce through thy own soul also, that the thoughts of many hearts may be revealed.

This can be complemented by the following word from Jesus Christ:

John 15:22 22 If I had not come and spoken unto them, they had not had sin: but now they have no cloak for their sin.

Worship and prayers addressed to Mary, rather than to God, might well be likened to that sword piercing her soul, revealing the thoughts of many hearts. Those who do not believe the words of Jesus Christ regarding Mary and who do not have their hearts wholly dedicated to God, as their practices, as we will see, violate His commandments. Jesus’ response at Cana clearly shows that His actions were not because Mary, as His mother, intervened. He refers to her as “woman” rather than “mother,” and later emphasizes that His mother is anyone who obeys God. Indeed, He grants blessings to all who ask Him directly, even to the Canaanite woman!

Praying to Mary blasphemes against God, worships the dead, attributes omnipresence to her, and implicitly creates a new god.

On Prayers to Mary as an Insult to Christ

Some claim they do not pray to Mary but rather ask for her intercession. Whether it is prayer or intercession request, this does not alter the following point. Even when asked what they do differently when praying compared to asking Mary for intercession, it becomes clear that their reasoning is hollow, merely diversionary.

Such practices (prayers or intercessions to Mary) are an insult to Christ for the following reasons.

John 2:4 Jesus said, “Woman, what have I to do with thee? mine hour is not yet come.” John 14:13-14 And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.

Jesus Christ gave His life for us, and yet, Rome believes that Mary can hear our prayers more easily than He can.

Knowing she cannot intercede between God and us (Jesus being the only way), putting her as an intercessor between Christ and us implicitly suggests that she will listen more easily than Christ! And that she loves us more than Christ, who died for us. Understand this: By placing Mary as an intercessor between Christ and us, the fundamental question is: “Between Jesus Christ and Mary, who will more easily listen to my prayer?” Going through Mary as an intercessor answers “Mary.” One does not go through someone distant to reach someone close, but rather through the close one to reach the distant.

What biblical basis makes Mary an intercessor between Jesus Christ and us? NONE.

Not even the fact that Jesus told His disciple John, “Behold thy mother.” Where do you see in the New Testament that another disciple considered Mary as his mother? Or preached about Mary or worship to Mary?

Did you even see that disciple mention Mary in his gospel? NO. Instead, he took her into his home, indicating that Jesus Christ entrusted Mary to him for care.

By creating this supposed intercessor, we deny Jesus Christ’s words:

John 14:23 Jesus answered and said unto him, “If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.”

Do you believe this word of Christ? …

So, you go through Mary (a dead person WHO HAS MADE NO PROMISES to you and is not with you) to communicate with someone who has His abode with you?

Isn’t it acknowledging that you do not have a direct relationship with Jesus Christ? Or that you do not believe in the word of Jesus Christ?

Matthew 28:19-20 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world.

Between Jesus Christ who gave His life for you, made promises to you, and is the creator filled with divine power, and Mary, a woman who made no promises, did not die for you, and does not possess divine attributes, who can more easily hear your prayer?

Creation of an Implicit New God Called Mary

Definition of the Word God

Let us start by recalling the definitions of the word “god” from the Larousse dictionary (https://www.larousse.fr/dictionnaires/francais/dieu/25418):

god (masculine noun)

  1. (In polytheistic religions) a superior being endowed with supernatural power over humans; deity: the gods of the Romans.
  2. Representation of a deity: gods in stone.
  3. A person to whom one devotes veneration or passionate attachment, or whom one considers superior: This athlete is their god.
  4. An object, thing, idea placed at the highest in the hierarchy of values and to which one sacrifices everything: The god dollar.

On Prayers to Mary

Can you explain how she listens simultaneously to everyone praying to her around the world? When you have a billion people across the globe praying to her at the same time, how can she hear them if she does not possess the following capabilities:

  1. Omnipresence
  2. Infinite processing power for requests (imagine over a billion requests per minute)

No human can justify such capabilities, and assuming them for a human implicitly makes her a god named Mary. This is reinforced by the veneration Catholics ascribe to her.

Even if not explicitly acknowledged, according to the definition of the word “god,” she is implicitly made a god, violating the first of the Ten Commandments.

Exodus 20:3 Thou shalt have no other gods before me.

Then there are statues supposedly representing her, yet her figure or physique is nowhere described in the Bible and thus cannot be made into statues, violating the second of the Ten Commandments.

Exodus 20:4-6 Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me; And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.

She is given the blasphemous title of “Mother of God.”

The LORD our God has no mother. He has neither beginning nor end. The creature cannot be the mother of the creator.

2 Corinthians 6:15-17 And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you.

Some say that Mary listens to prayers carried by guardian angels.

This merely shifts the problem while introducing agents not mentioned in the Bible. She would need the listening ability to hear billions of people at once.

It’s like having a mailbox receiving billions of letters every second.

Even if those letters are there, do you think you can read them all every second? Because as one second passes, another billion letters arrive. Is this capacity possible for a human? John the Baptist, considered greater than Mary, does not do this, but Mary does?

The earthly Jesus no longer exists (the one who would be subject to Mary, though evidently He was not in the flesh), it is not the heavenly Jesus Christ, whom the Bible says all things will be subjected to, who would now be subject to Mary.

Jeremiah 44:17-18 But we will certainly do whatsoever thing goeth forth out of our own mouth, to burn incense unto the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto her, as we have done, we, and our fathers, our kings, and our princes, in the cities of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem: for then had we plenty of victuals, and were well, and saw no evil. But since we left off to burn incense to the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto her, we have wanted all things, and have been consumed by the sword and by the famine…

Many people think that the sign of God’s presence or that God is answering is seeing their wishes fulfilled or witnessing miracles. This is exactly what those people said. Moreover, due to the actions of the Baals or God’s anger, many, when they cease without entering true obedience, which is the framework of God’s promise, begin to experience misfortunes, and since their hearts are not truly with God and they do not trust Him, they return to their practices.

Acts 19:24-27 For a certain man named Demetrius, a silversmith, which made silver shrines for Diana, brought no small gain unto the craftsmen; Whom he called together with the workmen of like occupation, and said, Sirs, ye know that by this craft we have our wealth. Moreover ye see and hear that not alone at Ephesus, but almost throughout all Asia, this Paul hath persuaded and turned away much people, saying that they be no gods, which are made with hands: So that not only this our craft is in danger to be set at nought; but also that the temple of the great goddess Diana should be despised, and her magnificence should be destroyed, whom all Asia and the world worshippeth.

On Communication with the Dead through Mary

  1. How Can the Dead, Like Mary, Intercede Between the Living? HOW TO CONSULT THE DEAD?

The dogma of the Assumption was invented to provide substance, but the Bible does not mention anywhere that Mary ascended to Heaven.

On the other hand, it has been told to us that Jesus went there to be our Advocate with the Father.

Moreover, the very day chosen for the Assumption coincides with a festival detestable to the LORD, established by King Jeroboam to compete with another feast decreed by the LORD (1 Kings 12:32: “And Jeroboam ordained a feast in the eighth month, on the fifteenth day of the month, like unto the feast that is in Judah, and he offered upon the altar. So did he in Bethel, sacrificing unto the calves that he had made: and he placed in Bethel the priests of the high places which he had made.”)

When someone does not die, their contemporaries realize it. One does not wait over 400 years to discover that someone might not have died (as in the case of Mary) simply because suddenly one wants to worship them.

Did you know that the Bible forbids consulting the dead?

1 Chronicles 10:13: “So Saul died for his transgression which he committed against the LORD, even against the word of the LORD, which he kept not, and also for asking counsel of one that had a familiar spirit, to inquire of it.”

Leviticus 20:6: “And the soul that turneth after such as have familiar spirits, and after wizards, to go a whoring after them, I will even set my face against that soul, and will cut him off from among his people.”

Deuteronomy 18:9-11: “When thou art come into the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee, thou shalt not learn to do after the abominations of those nations. There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch, Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer.”

The Christian is supposed to have Christ living in him. How is it possible to go through a dead person (since she is dead) to reach a living person who is in you? Is it not acknowledging that you do not know Jesus Christ?

Some will say that their dead are not dead, which is why they can communicate with them. One should then ask them if the prophet Samuel was less alive in the sense of life than they claim their dead are, he being a prophet of God, whom Saul went to consult via those who call up the dead, and whose woman said she saw a god ascending. If Saul died after consulting the prophet Samuel, it is clear that regardless of how they consider their dead alive, we should not consult or communicate with humans who no longer live in the flesh in this world.

On Mary’s Intercessory Role in the Bible

The deceptive interpretation of the wedding at Cana

The intercessory role of Mary, which Rome likes to build upon through the first miracle where Mary says to Jesus, “They have no wine,” to make it seem that Jesus acts on Mary’s intercession is misleading.

Indeed, there is no one in the Bible who, having directly addressed Jesus, did not receive satisfaction. Why feel a sudden need for her intercession many centuries after Jesus Christ?

The sister of Lazarus saw her brother resurrected; did she go through Mary?

Who has addressed Jesus Christ directly and not had their request fulfilled?…

Who in the Bible asked Mary to intercede for them (Even at Cana, it is said to be Mary’s initiative and not that the people there asked her for intercession)?

Which verse, which apostle said that we could ask Mary for intercession without seeing her physically before us?

Or even simply that we could ask her for intercession?

Or even mentioned her name in their preaching?

Catholicism, by making Mary a Co-Redemptrix, implicitly declares that Jesus Christ could not accomplish His mission alone and needed help, thereby denying the words of Christ and the apostles, who never appointed a co-redemptrix to Jesus Christ.

The Argument that Jesus Would Obey Mary Because She is His Mother

We will take a few examples from the Bible to show that it is not said that a king is supposed to be obedient to his mother, and there can even be the opposite.

Adonijah goes through King Solomon’s mother to make a request, and in return, the king orders his death.

1 Kings 2:13-25: “13 And Adonijah the son of Haggith came to Bath-sheba the mother of Solomon. And she said, Comest thou peaceably? And he said, Peaceably. 14 He said moreover, I have somewhat to say unto thee. And she said, Say on. 15 And he said, Thou knowest that the kingdom was mine, and that all Israel set their faces on me, that I should reign: howbeit the kingdom is turned about, and is become my brother’s: for it was his from the LORD. 16 And now I ask one petition of thee, deny me not. And she said unto him, Say on. 17 And he said, Speak, I pray thee, unto Solomon the king, (for he will not say thee nay,) that he give me Abishag the Shunammite to wife. 18 And Bath-sheba said, Well; I will speak for thee unto the king. 19 Bath-sheba therefore went unto King Solomon, to speak unto him for Adonijah. And the king rose up to meet her, and bowed himself unto her, and sat down on his throne, and caused a seat to be set for the king’s mother; and she sat on his right hand. 20 Then she said, I desire one small petition of thee; I pray thee, say me not nay. And the king said unto her, Ask on, my mother: for I will not say thee nay. 21 And she said, Let Abishag the Shunammite be given to Adonijah thy brother to wife. 22 And King Solomon answered and said unto his mother, And why dost thou ask Abishag the Shunammite for Adonijah? ask for him the kingdom also; for he is mine elder brother; even for him, and for Abiathar the priest, and for Joab the son of Zeruiah. 23 Then King Solomon sware by the LORD, saying, God do so to me, and more also, if Adonijah have not spoken this word against his own life. 24 Now therefore, as the LORD liveth, which hath established me, and set me on the throne of David my father, and who hath made me an house, as he promised, Adonijah shall be put to death this day. 25 And King Solomon sent by the hand of Benaiah the son of Jehoiada; and he fell upon him that he died.”

Asa removes the queen’s dignity from his mother for having made idols.

1 Kings 15:13: “And also Maachah his mother, even her he removed from being queen, because she had made an idol in a grove: and Asa destroyed her idol, and burned it by the brook Kidron.”

On the Virginity and Other Children of Mary

Matthew 1:25: “And knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name Jesus.”

Matthew 13:55: “Is not this the carpenter’s son? is not his mother called Mary? and his brethren, James, and Joses, and Simon, and Judas? 56 And his sisters, are they not all with us? Whence then hath this man all these things?”

Luke 1:36: “And, behold, thy cousin Elisabeth, she hath also conceived a son in her old age: and this is the sixth month with her, who was called barren.”

Note that Elisabeth is not called Mary’s sister (in the sense of cousin), but rather as Mary’s relative.

47: “Then one said unto him, Behold, thy mother and thy brethren stand without, desiring to speak with thee. 48 But he answered and said unto him that told him, Who is my mother? and who are my brethren? 49 And he stretched forth his hand toward his disciples, and said, Behold my mother and my brethren! 50 For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother.”

On Apparitions of Mary and Miracles of Mary and Other Revelations

On Mary

Some say that the Bible did not say everything, and that there have been further revelations about the Assumption and others. It is true that God continues to reveal. But new revelations must be consistent and in continuity with the Bible. The supposed revelations about Mary lead to the creation of a new god and idolatry, as we have seen. Let us read what is written.

Galatians 1:8: “8But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. 9 As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.”

Note that “accursed” means condemned or even cursed.

Mary at Fatima

2 Corinthians 11:13: “13For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. 14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. 15 Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.”

Deuteronomy 13:1-3: “1 If there arise among you a prophet, or a dreamer of dreams, and giveth thee a sign or a wonder, 2 And the sign or the wonder come to pass, whereof he spake unto thee, saying, Let us go after other gods, which thou hast not known, and let us serve them; 3 Thou shalt not hearken unto the words of that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams: for the LORD your God proveth you, to know whether ye love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul.”

1 Kings 13:8-24: “8 And the man of God said unto the king, If thou wilt give me half thine house, I will not go in with thee, neither will I eat bread nor drink water in this place: 9 For so was it charged me by the word of the LORD, saying, Eat no bread, nor drink water, nor turn again by the same way that thou camest. 10 So he went another way, and returned not by the way that he came to Bethel. 11 Now there dwelt an old prophet in Bethel; and his sons came and told him all the works that the man of God had done that day in Bethel: the words which he had spoken unto the king, them they told also to their father. 12 And their father said unto them, What way went he? For his sons had seen what way the man of God went, which came from Judah. 13 And he said unto his sons, Saddle me the ass. So they saddled him the ass: and he rode thereon, 14 And went after the man of God, and found him sitting under an oak: and he said unto him, Art thou the man of God that camest from Judah? And he said, I am. “He said unto him, Art thou the man of God that camest from Judah? And he said, I am. 15 Then he said unto him, Come home with me, and eat bread. 16 And he said, I may not return with thee, nor go in with thee: neither will I eat bread nor drink water with thee in this place: 17 For it was said to me by the word of the LORD, Thou shalt eat no bread nor drink water there, nor turn again to go by the way that thou camest. 18 He said unto him, I am a prophet also as thou art; and an angel spake unto me by the word of the LORD, saying, Bring him back with thee into thine house, that he may eat bread and drink water. But he lied unto him. 19 So he went back with him, and did eat bread in his house, and drank water. 20 And it came to pass, as they sat at the table, that the word of the LORD came unto the prophet that brought him back: 21 And he cried unto the man of God that came from Judah, saying, Thus saith the LORD, Forasmuch as thou hast disobeyed the mouth of the LORD, and hast not kept the commandment which the LORD thy God commanded thee, 22 But camest back, and hast eaten bread and drunk water in the place, of the which the LORD did say to thee, Eat no bread, and drink no water; thy carcase shall not come unto the sepulchre of thy fathers. 23 And it came to pass, after he had eaten bread, and after he had drunk, that he saddled for him the ass, to wit, for the prophet whom he had brought back. 24 And when he was gone, a lion met him by the way, and slew him: and his carcase was cast in the way, and the ass stood by it, the lion also stood by the carcase.

VI. On the Immaculate Conception

Luke 1:5 “5There was in the days of Herod, the king of Judaea, a certain priest named Zacharias, of the course of Abia: and his wife was of the daughters of Aaron, and her name was Elisabeth. 6 And they were both righteous before God, walking in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord blameless.”

The Bible bears witness to the righteousness of John’s parents, as seen here. The doctrine of the Immaculate Conception of Mary is a significant falsehood.

We are told that “all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23). The Bible does not provide any exemption for Mary, who also calls God her savior (Luke 1:47: “And my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour”). She is suddenly transformed into a person without sin, thus needing no savior, under the pretext that Christ could not be born of a sinner. In this case, she herself could not have been born of a sinner, to avoid being tainted by her birth.

Tracing this back, no one in her lineage should have sinned, including Eve.

VII. On the Efficacy of Prayers Addressed to Mary

Read carefully the following:

Jeremiah 44:17-18 (the people speak to the prophet): “17 But we will certainly do whatsoever thing goeth forth out of our own mouth, to burn incense unto the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto her, as we have done, we, and our fathers, our kings, and our princes, in the cities of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem: for then had we plenty of victuals, and were well, and saw no evil. 18 But since we left off to burn incense to the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto her, we have wanted all things, and have been consumed by the sword and by the famine.”

Many people think that the sign of God’s presence or that it is God who answers is seeing their wishes fulfilled or witnessing miracles. This is exactly what these people said. Furthermore, due to the actions of Baals or the anger of God, many when they cease without entering true obedience, which is the framework of God’s promise, begin to experience misfortunes, and since their hearts are not truly towards God and they do not trust Him, they return to their practices. But what does God say?

Jeremiah 44:25-28: “25 Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel: Ye and your wives have both spoken with your mouths, and fulfilled with your hand, saying, We will surely perform our vows that we have vowed, to burn incense to the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto her: ye will surely accomplish your vows, and surely perform your vows. 26 Therefore hear ye the word of the LORD, all Judah that dwell in the land of Egypt; Behold, I have sworn by my great name, saith the LORD, that my name shall no more be named in the mouth of any man of Judah in all the land of Egypt, saying, The Lord GOD liveth. 27 Behold, I will watch over them for evil, and not for good: and all the men of Judah that are in the land of Egypt shall be consumed by the sword and by the famine, until there be an end of them.”

Thus, those who do this amass a treasure of wrath, and mistake God’s patience for approval. When punishment comes, it is without appeal.

VIII. Some Concluding Questions

Are you aware, in light of all this, that Marian worship, far from being necessary or useful, at best serves no purpose (all the early Christians did not need it), and at worst, distances you from God and exposes you to His wrath? Are you aware that by focusing more on pleasing a church rather than God, at the risk of offending God, you also risk being rejected by God? Why risk sending your soul to death through prayers to Mary when without these prayers you can receive everything from God through Jesus Christ?

IX. On Statues

Deuteronomy 16:22 “Thou shalt not set thee up any image; which the LORD thy God hateth.”

Note that this verse exclusively speaks of images, not idols.

Deuteronomy 4:15-19 “15 Take ye therefore good heed unto yourselves; for ye saw no manner of similitude on the day that the LORD spake unto you in Horeb out of the midst of the fire: 16 Lest ye corrupt yourselves, and make you a graven image, the similitude of any figure, the likeness of male or female, 17 The likeness of any beast that is on the earth, the likeness of any winged fowl that flieth in the air, 18 The likeness of any thing that creepeth on the ground, the likeness of any fish that is in the waters beneath the earth. 19 And lest thou lift up thine eyes unto heaven, and when thou seest the sun, and the moon, and the stars, even all the host of heaven, shouldest be driven to worship them, and serve them, which the LORD thy God hath divided unto all nations under the whole heaven.”

2 Kings 18:4 “He removed the high places, and brake the images, and cut down the groves, and brake in pieces the brazen serpent that Moses had made: for unto those days the children of Israel did burn incense to it: and he called it Nehushtan.”

Note that here the term “images” and “idols” are mentioned separately.

Deuteronomy 4:23-24 “23 Take heed unto yourselves, lest ye forget the covenant of the LORD your God, which he made with you, and make you a graven image, or the likeness of any figure, which the LORD thy God hath forbidden thee. 24 For the LORD thy God is a consuming fire, even a jealous God.”

Remember that the Jews who came out of Egypt did not enter the promised land not because they had sinned against their neighbor, but because they had made and worshipped a golden calf or because they had shown disbelief in God and His power.

How will those who flagrantly violate God’s word by using statues for religious purposes escape? In any case, everyone knows what they rely on, including those who take these paths where they are sure to lose their soul if they are mistaken, at the expense of safer and more scripturally compliant paths. Take heed unto yourselves, as this is very significant, for statues lead to the loss of the soul.

For those who wish to justify statues by the fact that God instructed Moses to make the brazen serpent or by the instructions regarding the temple, they should answer the following questions, while noting that the serpent of Moses was destroyed as mentioned above.

Does it mean that when the legislator gives a rule and provides an exception, it authorises anyone to deliberately transgress the rule without the legislator’s consent? (yes/no) Do you know that the 2nd commandment first requires not making statues (simply not making them Ex 20:3-12), and there is a punctuation mark ending the relevant phrase, before saying in the second phrase not to worship them? Do you know that this commandment is accompanied by a promise of punishment up to the 4th generation? Do you know that God further justifies why He said not to make them by specifying that He never showed a face and that consequently one should not represent a face in a statue (Deuteronomy 4:15-19)? Do you know that the Bible has never described the faces of Mary or Jesus and that consequently what is in statues cannot be either? … Do you know that Jesus is very often represented by the face of an actor who has repeatedly stated that he is not Jesus?

Why, while you are at it, did you not give this veneration to John the Baptist, who is greater than Mary, who baptized Jesus and prepared His coming? Can you estimate the number of verses where God warns against making statues and the punishments that accompany them? In light of all this, do you think that someone who fears God can freely make statues without the rule being abrogated because of a single exception? If as Christians we have the Spirit of God and Christ in us, is it not evident that statues at best serve us nothing and at worst put us under God’s wrath? Why risk going to perdition with statues when without them we can receive all the graces we need from God?

The Supposed Revelations of the Church

To those who claim to have received revelations outside the Bible to introduce prayers to Mary or similar practices, we say that it is always possible to have revelations. Nevertheless, for a revelation to be acceptable, it must meet the following criteria:

  1. Be Described
  2. The person claiming to have had the revelation must be able to commit before God that they are not lying in their description, and that God will visibly strike them within a year if they are lying about what they describe.
  3. Be Compatible with the Foundations of Scriptures and the Gospel We Have Learned from the Beginning
This must be in accordance with biblical texts that can be consulted at the following link:
    Galatians 1:8, 1 John 2:18-2:19, 1 John 2:24-2:26, 2 John 1:9-1:10, 1 Timothy 1:3, 1 Timothy 4:9, Ephesians 4:14, Titus 1:9, 2 Peter 3:15-3:17, 2 Corinthians 11:4, 2 Corinthians 11:13-11:15, Proverbs 3:21-3:22 KJV – But though we, or an angel from heaven, – Bible Gateway

Conclusion and Other Links

Prayers to Mary are just one of the means by which Catholicism seeks to overturn the greatest commandment of Christianity (to love God with all your heart, soul, strength, and mind), which falls under the first two of the Ten Commandments (not to have other gods, not to make statues). Knowing that the transgression of these commandments was punished by death, it is a means of leading souls to perdition by making them believe that it is merely a matter of opinion and that what matters most is loving one’s neighbor. Let no one deceive you by saying that the church has authority to alter the word of God. This authority has not been conferred upon it anywhere in the Bible. Those who claim to have other sources than the Bible, which are incompatible with the Bible, thus confirm that they are not Christians. Pope with Buddhist Cross

If you look at the image on the right, the cross that the pope is wearing (I am not referring to the multicolored cross, which itself poses another issue, but the one below it). It is not very visible without zooming in, but if you pay attention, you will see that the figure on the cross has its arms crossed, exactly like some singers. On the cross, the arms are supposed to be nailed, not crossed, but pay attention and you will see. This crossing of arms corresponds to a Buddhist spiritual sign (the vajrahūṃkāra-mudrā) in the following link:
